Pretty Petals: A New Business Blossoms


“I love flowers. I’ve always wanted to work in a flower shop and now I feel like I do,” comments Lynn B. shown above with Steve Lipkin, coordinator of day habilitation services.

Last summer, White Plains day services planted the seeds for its own flower business, Pretty Petals.  The venture promotes creativity, while teaching time management, teamwork and money skills.  Participants design colorful and distinctive floral bouquets, which they sell to agency staff, and plans are afoot to begin offering the service to other White Plains organizations.  Profits will be used to fund trips, movie outings and other recreational activities.
