Manzi Center Workers

“Excel” with Computers

Patsy G. helps wife Lois tone her computer skills.

Today, most people rely on computers for research, writing and correspondence. Individuals with developmental disabilities are no different.

Fifteen workers at the agency’s Ann Manzi Center in Mount Kisco utilize PCs for both practical and recreational purposes. Some use Microsoft Office to build a resume, sharpen reading comprehension and enhance job skills. Others write short stories or design greeting cards, which promotes creativity.

“I like learning about history and geography,” says Nicole W.

“I enjoy playing games and learning Spanish,” offers Hillarie N.

“I’m fond of the Encyclopedia Britannica program and the tutorial on Word and Excel,” comments Lois G. “At home I use the Internet and have my own email address. We’re currently advocating to get Internet access here.”
