Bresnan Bike Tour Raises over $300,000
Seventy cyclists peddled from Patterson, New York, to Bennington, Vermont during the 2008 Bresnan Bike Tour in support of children and adults with developmental disabilities. The three-day event, held June 6-8, raised over $300,000 for the Westchester Arc Foundation and Special Olympics New York-Hudson Valley Region. Participants endured extreme heat, thunderstorms and heavy winds to complete the 200-mile tour.
A team of volunteers from Westchester Arc and Special Olympics were on-hand to provide support and encouragement. “There was an amazing degree of positive energy among the bicyclists,” comments volunteer Kimberly Boneski. “I have never experienced such a sense of camaraderie and goodwill. It was a very rewarding experience and I’d be happy to volunteer again.”
